Restraining Order in Alabama

Restraining OrdersDomestic violence is an unfortunate reality in a growing number of families. If you, your children or other family members are at risk because your spouse or someone you are dating is emotionally or physically abusive, it might be necessary to file a petition for a restraining order in order to avail yourself of the court’s protection. It is important to remember that restraining orders can impact the outcome of a divorce judgment or settlement. We represent clients who need protection in the form of a restraining order. We also represent clients in challenging restraining orders when they believe they have been wrongfully accused or have a valid defense.

Domestic ViolenceProtection From Abuse (PFA) Orders – A PFA Petition can be filed if there is an imminent threat of physical harm, harassment, stalking or other types of abuse. A temporary order, pending a final hearing, can be granted immediately and restrains a defendant from a broad range of prohibited conduct. If you have been served with a PFA Order, you should consult an attorney.

Temporary Restraining Orders (TROs) – TROs may be available to you without notice, under certain circumstances if there is an immediate threat to you or your children. We are able to advise you whether or not your situation qualifies for a TRO and if so, we will assist you in obtaining the appropriate relief.
